As announced by ITU, the final stage of the campus email system
conversion for faculty staff will begin at 5 PM on Friday, April 12.
After that time, you will no longer be able to access the old system.
The new system will be live for use around 7 PM. Note that email
received between April 1 and April 12 will not be completely migrated
until Sunday or Monday. ITU recommends that you not use email until
Monday but if you insist...

To use email after 7 PM Friday (instructions below will NOT work until
then):

Web interface (simplest and GMU-preferred): Go to
http://office365.gmu.edu and click on the yellow box to the left. That
will direct you to a GMU “Federated log-in” page where you can log in
using your GMU email ID and the same password you use for email and
Banner. If it does not accept your password, then you will have to
change it at https://password.gmu.edu). NOTE: You must use that URL or
http://mail.gmu.edu – do not bookmark the GMU Federated Log-In page.

Microsoft Outlook: Create a new email account and enter your email
address – Outlook will automatically configure your account.

Other email clients (Thunderbird, Apple): Get the IMAP & SMTP host
names and port information first by logging into the web interface (see
instructions above for connecting to it), click on Options > See All
Options > My Account > Settings for POP, IMAP and SMTP access and note
the settings, which you can then use to set up your client. (NOTE: not
everyone has the same settings so everyone must check their own settings)

Smartphones: iPhone and iPad users can just create a new Microsoft
Exchange email account and the phone will configure itself automatically
(must be on IOS 6 for this to work). People with other phones should
get their settings as described above in the section for “other email
clients” and set up their phone manually.

More detailed instructions for everything above are on the
http://office365.gmu.edu site.

If you need help with your office computer on Monday morning, please
call 3-1515 or send email to [log in to unmask] and someone will come to
your office to help you set things up.

Generic accounts (those for a department) will all have new passwords
and we can help with those.

For those who use the campus calendar system, Oracle Calendar (aka
Corporate Time), that system conversion will happen in May or June.
NOTE: People using Corporate Time should NOT start using the new
calendar until the conversion is done in May or June or you will wind up
with conflicting meetings.
