Good afternoon!

I know the semester is 'winding down' (and by winding down I mean winding up with term papers and exams), but I wanted to let you know / remind you about the Center for Security Policy Studies' final two student events for the year.

First, we still have a few slots left for our virtual Spring 2021 Crisis Simulation. Based on a hypothetical - but, in light of Putin's recent shenanigans astride Ukraine, not entirely implausible - militarized crisis in Europe.

We are dividing the simulation into two parts: An orientation session from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm EDT on Friday, April 23rd; and the actual 'game' from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm EDT on Saturday, April 24th.

Second, we are hosting another (also virtual) Defense & Security Research Forum session from 2:00-3:30 pm on Wednesday, April 28th. This time we are welcoming one of our very own best and brightest as Ph.D. candidate Matt Fay presents a draft chapter from his dissertation on military adaptation during the Second World War. This session should be particularly useful for first or second year Ph.D. students who want to de-mystify the dissertation writing process, as well as MA students who are contemplating pursuing a Ph.D.

Please email Joe Petrucelli at [log in to unmask] to RSVP. As always, we're capping the event at 25 to ensure that we can facilitate an actual conversation and discussion, so first come first served.

I hope to "see" you at one or both events!

Best,

Mike
