Subject: Job Opportunity for CBN/HFAC Students

Hi Susan,

Could you please forward the employment opportunity below to the CBN and HFAC email lists? I think it is a great fit for advanced students/recent graduates from those programs.

Thanks,

John

Dear Students and Alumni,

KINEX, Inc. is a federal contractor company that supports the U.S. Department of Defense. We are currently looking to hire one or two research psychologists to support our on-site research operations at Ft. Belvoir, VA. Students in GMU's Human Factors and Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience programs are particularly encouraged to apply.

Our research projects primarily focus on human visual perception, augmented reality, and usability. Our core mission is to support Department of Defense engineers by evaluating human performance with the emerging technologies they are developing, such as sensors, image-processing algorithms, and augmented reality displays.

Applicant research interests, content knowledge and experience should broadly align with several of the following areas: visual perception (signal detection and object recognition), learning, memory, and training, cognitive testing, research design, augmented reality, trust in automation, and usability evaluation. Proficient core research skills (writing, reading, and data analysis) are also required. Experience with physiological metrics is beneficial, as this is an area of research we plan to expand into.

The position is full-time with a competitive salary and benefits, although applicants interested in a part-time position will also be considered. It may also be possible to secure funding for theses or dissertations that fit within the research programs of our government customers, (as we did for recent Human Factors graduate Sam Monfort).

This opportunity requires a masters or doctorate degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate preferred). All applicants must be eligible to receive a security clearance from the U.S. government, although an existing clearance is not required to begin work.

If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact me. To formally apply for this position, please send a cover letter and resume/CV to me [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
