Subject: Representative for GAPSA's General Assembly

Good afternoon,

My name is Austin, and I am one of the advisors to the Graduate and Professional Student Association (GAPSA) at George Mason University. The purpose of GAPSA is to advocate for graduate and professional students at Mason and to address their issues and concerns with University leadership.

You may recall last year, we sent a call for program representatives for GAPSA's General Assembly. We are currently prepping for this academic year's General Assembly and we need your help. You are getting this email because we were either told that the past representative will no longer be serving as the rep., your rep. has become unresponsive, or because we haven't had a representative from your graduate program(s).

This student should be a graduate/professional degree-seeking student and will serve as the voting representative to the General Assembly for this academic year. The graduate program representative will be responsible for attending each General Assembly meeting (or selecting a proxy to serve in their absence), to speak to fellow students in their graduate/professional program in order to represent their issues effectively, and to communicate GAPSA initiatives and updates back to their graduate/professional program. We leave it up to each program on how they select the representatives. Some make it a student elected position from their student organization/association, and others are appointed by the program/department chair/coordinator.

If you could provide me the name of your program(s)'s representative and email by August 21st, we will be able to get them into our system and make sure they are in all the communications from GAPSA.

If you have any questions or concerns, let me know. And, thank you for helping guarantee the voices of our graduate students are represented.

Best,

Austin
