Dear Volgenau School PhD IT students:

If you are planning on graduating this semester, you need to file your 
intent to graduate on *Patriot Web* <https://patriotweb.gmu.edu> by 
clicking on "Student Services & Financial Aid" and then "Graduation 
Intent”. You will also need to submit a paper graduation application to 
my attention as well. The paper applications can be accessed from the 
following URL: http://registrar.gmu.edu/graduation/gradapp.html

Keep in mind the following:

* Your pre-defense should be held no sooner than one month after members 
of the committee have copies of the dissertation
*You are responsible for scheduling a conference room for the pre and 
final defense (see attached list)
* Dr. Menasce must attend your pre-defense; please contact his 
assistant, Laura Harrison, 703-993-1505, to check his availability
* Once the committee grants approval to defend, a final public oral 
defense may be scheduled no sooner than one month after the
conclusion of the pre-defense so that the announcement is posted for at 
least two weeks
* Your final dissertation must be submitted to the library no later than 
*December 11, 2009* (work backward from this date for planning purposes)
*The entire dissertation committee must be present at the defense
