Curiouser and curiouser.   I just downloaded the 1.5 src and demo tar
balls, built them, and ran the CampusWorld demo without a hitch.  Not so
much as a peep about GDAL.

The following are my CLASSPATH, JRE version, and OS spec:

(Oh, I see I'm using an older version of JTS.  Need to fix that, stat.
 Fortunately, that's not relevant to this conversation, but I do need to
fix my local setup, apparently.)
