Do you want to change the encoding level *only in books* in a file of multiple formats? If so, I'd pull out the book records (using the Select/Extract records tool -- use the LDR as the display field and search for the regex "^......am")
Then you can do a find/replace of something like FIND (=008 .{17}).(.8) REPLACE $17$2 ... again with regex selected.

Whether a book is large print is recorded in 008 position 23 (which should be "d") so I'd use Select records, setting display field as 008, and match the regex "^.{23}d"

Working from home today so I didn't actually test these and I'm wondering if the "$17$2" will work (capture set 1, numeral 7, capture set 2) or be interpreted as capture set 17, capture set 2

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Change encoding level in batch and identify large print

CAUTION: This email originated from outside of The University of Akron. Use caution when opening attachments, clicking links or responding to requests for information.

Hello All,

In MarcEdit how would I batch change the encoding level of print books to 7 in batch?
In addition is there a way to identify format of records such as large print in batch from the 008 field?

Thank you,

Jessica
