Michael, if I'm understanding you correctly you can do that with the Export=
Delimited function. When you get to the "Step 2: Define Fields/Subfields t=
o Export" just tell it only to export a single field.
The one thing it won't do, but might be a good idea for an enhancement, is =
only export the 1st field if there are multiple identical fields (e.g. 020'=
s).

One other thing I wish I could do in MarcEdit is ?extract data from one fie=
ld or subfield into a text file -- for example to take a MARC file and pull=
out all the 001's, or 010's, or the first 020.
Our system allows us to extract batches of bib records, which I sometimes m=
anipulate in MarcEdit, but in many cases it would be even better to just be=
able to start fresh from the OCLC records. (The batch processing in OCLC =
Connexion accepts text files of terms to search, which is where the text fi=
le would come in handy.)
Alternatively could the delimited text conversion go the other way -- from =
MARC to delimited text, or some other Excel format?
