Are you configuring the auto installation so that it passes a username and password?  My guess is that if you are, the options are not set correctly because they are passed as parameters if present.  If the parameters are incorrect, you will see this kind of a message.  If not, how are you updating.  I quickly tested a straight download install as well as a install on XP without credentials and in both cases, things work as I'd expect.

5.5.18 won't install. I'm using 5.5.4103.xxxx I get this message:
