I can't think of anything in the program that could cause that kind of
pause. MarcEdit actually flushes the file when it is finished writing --
which should force the Operating system to complete whatever file operation
it's working on (since systems now do many things at once).

Subject: Re: [MARCEDIT-L] Files not saving
I just had a recurrence of a similar problem. I merged two files and then
saved the merged file (which had replaced one of the two files). The merged
file was nowhere to be found, just the two original files. After about 5
minutes I decided to try the merge again, and when I selected "open files"
in MarcEditor, the merged file was there. So, it appears there is a time
lag at play here, at least for my computer configuration?

No -- is it giving an IO error like a permissions error or is the error
regarding a specific file not being found? Is this something that just
started happening? It's really hard to say. What I can say is that
sometimes if you get files from the internet or email, windows (especially 7
and 8) mark these files as unsafe, and occasionally you may need to unblock
them to work with the data -- but that's not what it sounds like is
happening here.

I am having problems with edited files not saving to my desktop, or any
other drives on my computer. Does anyone know why I might be having this
problem?
