We've imported a number of records in MARC-8 format and we'd like to
fix some of the faulty diacritics, which now appear as EG Chmelova,
Elena
We get an error message, however, when we search directly for this
character using Find All. Any tips on how to successfully perform this
search?
BTW, this goes back to a brief discussion on the list in March 2010
(su: simple script), the gist of which was that we'd love to have an
even easier way of converting MARC-8 files to UTF-8 files. Perhaps a
script that accepts a file as an input, or a right-click option within
Windows? Our state's MARC files are in the wrong format and our
paraprofessional staff seem to be intimidated by MarcEdit & all its
powerful features :-(
All best,
