Hi Bryan,

The Close button closes the window. If you have opened the file by double
clicking on a .mrc file -- that means exiting the application. If you open
the program from the icon, opening the main window -- it will take you back
to that main window.

The UI change was really a way to start consolidating options, removing some
confusion folks would sometimes have finding things when I would run
workshops. Likewise, as I do the mac port, I'm looking to reuse some of the
UIisms to help preserve a similar look and feel. I can certainly bring back
the Return to main window option -- I removed it mostly because I didn't
think it was being used.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] New interface when breaking

After double-clicking a .mrc file to bring up the MarcEdit window to convert
it to a .mrk while using MarcEdit 6.0.5604.37833 (5/6/2015 10:01:08 PM), I
see a Tools menu at the top, but I don't see the option that used to be
there, to Return to Main Window. If I click on the close box, in most cases
(perhaps all--I'm not certain; upon first seeing that the menu was missing,
I'm not sure whether I clicked the close box or button in cases where the
program exited completely) I get sent to the main window. If I click the
Close button (below the Edit Records button), the program exits completely.
Are these differing behaviors of the close button vs. the close box
intended?

I liked the menu option to Return to Main Window for times when I needed to
make use of some of the other functions there, so would just double-click a
.mrc to bring up the Breaker, skip executing, and go to the main program.
via the menu option. Now, if the close box accomplishes the same thing as
that menu item, that's fine; but generally when I click the close box, I
would expect the program to exit rather than having another part of it pop
up that would then need to be closed. When breaking files to make use of the
.mrk in the Editor, I usually click execute, then close (then open the .mrk
directly), rather than Edit, to avoid having the main window open in the
background (or to avoid having to close the main window when done editing).

Thank you,
