You have to remember how the headings search work. The rules file defines which subfields will be used, and takes those and passes them to the id.loc service. If data is missing (because these are exact matches) -- then no data is returned.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Headings Validation report issue
Hello everyone,
I'm running the latest version of the program (7.5.98) and have noticed an issue with large numbers of headings being returned as invalid. Upon closer examination it looked like some headings (especially music heading) are missing parts of the headings, causing the search to fail. Here is an example:
The report returns
Record #5
Heading not found for: Beethoven, Ludwig van, 1770-1827. Trios, op. 70. No. 1.
Here is the heading exactly as it appears in the record:
=700 12$iContainer of (work):$aBeethoven, Ludwig van,$d1770-1827.$tTrios,$mpiano, violin, cello,$nop. 70.$nNo. 1.
If you search without the $m you will indeed have a failed search. I have replicated this issue on several files, any thoughts or ideas about why this might be happening?
Thanks,
Christia Thomason
