Remove the $a, the 001 is a control number, so there shouldn't be any
subfields in the record.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Generate call numbers not working with OCLC number
Hi,
I have a file where I put the OCLC number in the 001 field of the
records. Such as:
=001 $a1857697
and when I run the generate call numbers tool, it doesn't add a call
number, even though when I look up the OCLC number at
classify.oclc.org, there is an LCC number.
These are the options I used:
- add all to records
- Library of Congress
- calculate cutters and dates
- omit date for serials
- use subfield z for matching
- insert into field 090
Is there something wrong with the input data? Does generate call
numbers work with OCLC record identifiers in the 001 or only ISBN's in
the 020?
Thanks,
Shelley
