What kind of problem are you seeing -- the program has been created so that it creates its own user profiles for users when they install the software. Everyone has to install as an admin (that uses the software), the big thing that the program needs access to are the Roaming user profiles -- because MarcEdit has to setup individual application profiles on first run.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Installing MarcEdit for users

I am new to MarcEdit. I am the system administrator for our catalog, and with a couple of trainings I have had tremendous success in loading Overdrive records for mp3 and .wma Marc records in batches.

When I installed MarcEdit 5.5 on the computer in our Technical Services department, and checked the box that allows all users of the computer access for MarcEdit 5.5, it does not allow the staff to use the software.

We are using an in-house server with Windows 08, we have Mcaffee Antivirus and we use group policies to secure the network.

No one in Technical Services has the adminstrative access to download MarcEdit. I have done it with my profile, and checked the box that appears that requests access for all computer station users.

The only workaround I have suggested is to give the technical services staff administrator privilege, download the program, and then reset the privilege. Anyone know if that would work?
