Hi Caitlin,

I am not familiar with Open Refine, but I do use MarcEdit to look at & fix at least some subject typos.

We use BISAC and have found that those headings do seem to come in a variety of incorrect formatting!

By simply using Find | Find All, and "bisac" (or any other term I want to focus on), I am presented with a list of tags containing that term. I can do individual replacements or 'replace all' (replace all identical strings with something else.) This method does require that hands-on for each term string, however.

I can also do a scan of all subject headings by simply using =650, or =600, or =651 (etc.) as the search term, and get a listing of all subject terms, and sort by tag & contents to see if any noticeable errors or unwanted tags jump out.

Sincerely,

Clare Murphy

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Exporting to CSV / Using MARC Edit with Open Refine

Hi,

I'm a new user and I'm trying to use MARC Edit with Open Refine. Ideally, I'd like to be able to bring a set of about 5,000 records into MARC Edit, do some clean-up, then export to CSV so that I can use Open Refine's clustering function to fix typos and errors in subjects. I see that I can use the Export Tab Delimited Records function to identify and export specific fields, but I don’t see an efficient way to export all of the fields to csv at once. I feel like I must be missing something - help please?

Thanks,
