Try changing the file extension to .mrc and then open MarcEdit and use MarcBreaker.

The new version seems to be pickier about file extensions.

I am having problems with it as well. Everything I tried to process yesterday gave a -100 error. I downloaded an earlier version to get by for now.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Issue with files being locked

I'm having this problem with the new upgrade to MARCEDIT. When I open a file, down at the bottom it says something like "file processing in
.0039 seconds". It continues to say this the entire time I'm working on the file even though I can see every single record in the file (and it's not the large -- it has 274 records in it).

After I make my changes, when I go to process the file back into mrc, it won't process it because the mrk file is locked -- presumably because MARCEDIT is still trying to load it.

I have no idea what to do to get the mrk file processed into an mrc file.
