I have some records for audio books from Overdrive. In the record they have 2 856 links to excerpts. One is an mp3 file and the other is a wma file. They have the same subfield 3 for both. Just the word Excerpt. An example is listed below:
=856 4\$3Excerpt$uhttp://excerpts.contentreserve.com/FormatType-25/0887-1/142870-TheGreatGatsby.wma
=856 4\$3Excerpt$uhttp://excerpts.contentreserve.com/FormatType-425/0887-1/142870-TheGreatGatsby.mp3
What I would like to do is add either mp3 or wma as appropriate to the subfield 3 so that when these display it is clear to the user what kind of file they are downloading. So I'd like to change the 856 field to look something like the following
=856 4\$3.wma Excerpt$uhttp://excerpts.contentreserve.com/FormatType-25/0887-1/142870-TheGreatGatsby.wma
=856 4\$3.mp3 Excerpt$uhttp://excerpts.contentreserve.com/FormatType-425/0887-1/142870-TheGreatGatsby.mp3
Is this possible without manually altering every record? I can easily use find and replace to find and then alter that phrase, but I couldn't not figure out how to find a phrase and then copy and paste it elsewhere within the same field. Has anyone out there done something similar to this using MarcEdit?
