I was able to use MarcEdit to convert the initial file to MARC and load it without a problem. The July update though is giving me fits. I tried a number of ways of converting the file but I just get error messages. I'm sure I am missing something obvious. Is anyone else converting ProQuest records?

I, too, have no experience with ProQuest. Are you able to open the file in a text editor--WordPad/NotePad, etc.? If so, what do the contents look like? What error messages do you receive when you attempt to convert the file?

If the file is too large to open with a text editor, then perhaps opening a Command Prompt (assuming you are using MS Windows) and typing "type " and the path to the file, hitting return, should dump the file to the screen. Hit control-c quickly afterwards to get just the 1st part of the file, to see what the start of it looks like.
