Perhaps I'm not quite reading your question properly, but it seems to me
that you could just perform a Replace function instead of using the Swap
function.

Replace all instances of =650 with =655

Subject: MarcEdit - moving a tag with two subfields

Hi,

I'm moving film genre headings from the 650 to the 655 using MarcEdit's
Swap Fields. This works well for headings that just have one subfield,
for example "Animated films", "Detective and mystery films", or "Film
adaptations".

I can't figure out how to move a heading that has more than one
subfield, for example "Documentary films--Canada", "New wave
films--France", or "Feature films--Denmark".

All the tags that have 2 subfields all have 650 $a $z. What I want to do

is move both 650$a $z of all 650 tags that have $a (Documentary films)
to be 655. I fiddled around and found I was only able to move the 650$a
to 655$a, but the $z (Canada) remained in the 650.

I imagine it's possible, but after some trial and lots of error,
rereading the workshop notes, and doing a quick search of the MarcEdit
listserv archives, I can't figure it out.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Tara
