Thanks, I was thinking of trying that. But I have a couple of automated
tasks (I think that is what they are called) set up that I would prefer
not to lose. Does anyone know right off what folder those types of
things live in (or what kind of file I'm looking for) so I can grab my
customized stuff prior to un-installing?

It happened to me too, just last week. I didn't have a lot of time to
investigate, so I just uninstalled/reinstalled MarcEdit and it works
just fine now.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] MarcEdit Update?

I just received a notification that there was a new update for MarcEdit
today. So I let it automatically update to the newest version. It all
appeared to load correctly. Using the wizard, with no error messages.
However now when I try to launch the program I get an error message
right away. It's one of those generic error boxes that says:
" MarcEdit has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience." Send error report or don't send

This happened both to me and to another staff computer at our
institution today.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas where I should look to try
to fix it.
