Greetings. I have MARCXML records with the leader in the 000 field like so:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<collection xmlns="http://www.loc.gov/MARC21/slim">
<record>
  <controlfield tag="000">02279nas\a2200601Ia\4500</controlfield>
  <controlfield tag="001">289902</controlfield>
  <controlfield tag="003">OCoLC</controlfield>

But when I open the records in MarcEditor it seems to ignore my 000 field and add a new =LDR field like this:

=LDR  02629nam a2200613Ia 4500
=000  02279nas\a2200601Ia\4500
=001  289902
=003  OCoLC

I need to retain the original 000 field as the leader. I have tried lot of different things but the only success I have had is deleting the LDR and using a find & replace to change =000 to =LDR. Is this the best way to go about it? Many thanks for all of your time and help.
