I get a lot of MARC records from vendors with 10-digit ISBNs in the 020 field. Is there a way to automatically validate & add the corresponding 13-digit ISBN to all the records in a batch if they aren't already present?
One other thing: Is there a way to take a batch of MARC records and validate the author name field(s) or match them against LC name authorities and get a list of errors? Sometimes cataloging vendors forget to verify the names (or maybe their authority files haven't been updated), and it would be helpful to automate this before I batchload the records into my ILS.
Thanks!
