This is odd. I am able to make the ISBN transfer successfully using these
procedures although I too am experiencing inconsistencies with how other field
data is being handled in the merge process. Notably, various fields are being
duplicated at random when merging with the merge and overlay and merge all
unique data options. I first experienced this earlier yesterday when developing
the procedures since the unique data function would have been my preferred
route to transfer the duplicated ISBN over once it had been given a unique
identifier tag in the 998 field of file 2. Since it wasn't performing correctly, I
was able to make the transfer successfully with the merge and overlay option
but it seems the merge tool may not be functioning as intended. Perhaps
Terry can look into this when he has time.
