Hi all,

Happy new year!

I've been trying to figure out a good method for converting enhanced 505
fields to basic 505s. (I have a not-great method in place).

I'm getting snagged on how to replace all instances of $t, $r, or $g in
a 505 with a space in one fell swoop.

My instinct is that something like this should work (after fixing
indicators and changing any initial subfield delimiters to $a:

Find what:
^(=505.*)\$[trg]/g
Replace with:
$1
(^-- There's a space after $1)

But that /g modifier doesn't seem to work in MARCedit.

Terry, is there a way to do this kind of replacement in MARCedit currently?

And if anyone has already developed a task to make this conversion that
they'd be willing to share, that'd also be great.

thanks,
-=-
