Whatever you decide to do, the headings you describe are not duplicates. As a cataloger I'd say those 650 \0 headings should probably be $vJuvenile fiction rather than $xFiction. If you keep them that is. That and the 650 \1 headings are almost correct except they should be $vFiction. They would be the ones to keep and correct, unless you don't like a catalog where Dog-Fiction includes Clifford and Cujo together. I always delete the Juvi headings or change them to adult $vJuvenile fiction.
Others will be more help on the actual MarcEdit commands for whatever you decide.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Duplicate LCSH/ Children's Subject Headings
Many of our children's materials have duplicate LCSH as follows:
=650 \1$aPets$xFiction.
=650 \1$aApartment houses$xFiction.
=650 \0$aPets$xFiction.
=650 \0$aApartment houses$xFiction.
Is there a way to use regular expressions in MarcEdit to identify records where this occurs?
Is there a way to use the program to delete the redundant 650 \1's, leaving just the 650 \0's?
Thank you,
