So, should we set the preference folder and additionally provide the full path to the same folder in the -task option?
Could you point me to the documentation for that? I spent an hour searching via google and the listserv and was coming up blank. I can't see that requirement here: https://marcedit.reeset.net/cmarcedit-exe-using-the-command-line and this article shows a different path being used without a reference to need to the have the profile updated: https://blog.reeset.net/archives/2022
We're trying to "bundle" up a set of common tasks for others in our consortium and just looking for the easiest way to offer them a one-click experience. We used to offer this through .vbs and ScriptWizard, but that looks like it has been deprecated in the latest version. We tried to re-create our task in an older version that supported ScriptWizard, but the syntax was different enough that we couldn't seem to replicate the task in the older version.
So, we're trying to produce the simplest and best alternative and thought cmarcedit was our best option. We looked at watch folders, but these tasks they'll want to run in real-time and we don't always have full access to the machines where they'll be running, so a service might not work. Any other suggested approaches of packing up tasks for non-MarcEdit users? Otherwise, we'll probably look at building up a script that finds the profile folder and tries to move the task file there as needed.
Thanks as always for a great tool!
