You can use the "Edit field tool"
Field:245
Find: $h
Replace:$h
And then find:/ replace: /

How you added the GMD might be the source of the problem. Did you use the "Edit subfield data" tool to add the subfield h? I believe that would have handed the spaces properly. You'd want the "Add field if not present" radio box checked in that.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Adding a GMD to a record

CAUTION: This email originated from outside of The University of Akron.

Hello!
I am a cataloging librarian at Nassau Library System in Uniondale, NY. I am brand new to MarcEdit. I learned how to add the GMD to a record. I put a "." and "/" in the field data. It worked but my three test sound recording records have spaces that I don't want to be there. What I am trying to figure out is how to get rid of the space before the $h and have a space after the $h that I add. My three records include one that only has a $a with a period. The other 2 records have a $c.

Here are my examples:

=245 10$aBabymetal.
What I got was =245 10$aBabymetal $h[sound recording (CD)] there's a space before the $h.
I want it to look like =245 10$aBabymetal$h[sound recording (CD)]. No space between the title and $h.

=245 10$aBeautiful life /$cRick Astley.
What I got was =245 10$aBeautiful $h[sound recording (CD)]/$cRick Astley. there's a space before the $h and no space before the /$c.
I want it to look like =245 10$aBeautiful life$h[sound recording (CD)] /$cRick Astley. No space between the title and $h but have a space after the $h and before the $c.

Is there something I can add or change to make this work?

Thank you for any help you can give me,
Patricia Yannuzzi
