Use the Extract Selected Records function. Change the display field to 856, and then search. Any records without an 856 will say something like Display field not present. Search on that text and you can extract them from your file for further processing.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] How to find records lacking an 856 field
Editors,
I am working on a set of 8,500 WorldCat Collection Set records for
Springer e-books. My goal is to use only the dx.doi.org links and get
rid of extraneous 856s. But it appears that some of the records did not
have dx.doi.org links, so when I deleted others I ended up with an
unknown number of records with no 856 at all. How can I find them? I
know how to look for "something" using the Find command, but how do I
look for the absence of an 856?
