I have no clue why that's happening (not familiar with Millenium) but you could probably fix it with the Find/Replace All function:
Find what: =001\s\s\d(.+)
Replace: =001 $1
Use regular expressions=TRUE
Click Replace All.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] extra digit inserted onto the front of the 001 OCLC number
Hello,
I'm hoping you can help me with a frustrating puzzle. When I export a file from Millennium to edit in MarcEdit, a random digit (1-9) gets added to the beginning of the OCLC number in the 001 when I open the file in MarcEdit.
So instead of the OCLC number looking like this:
=001 ocn820785784
it looks like this when I open the records in MarcEdit:
=001 7ocn820785784
The extra digit makes it impossible to bring the file back into Millennium and overlay the records. Instead, it inserts the records as though they are new.
This _only_ happens with records that have been downloaded from Millennium.
New records are unaffected by this glitch.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Are the mystery digits put there by Millennium during the export process? Surely MarcEdit wouldn't generate a number like that?
Is there a regular expression or workaround I can use to remove the stray digit?
Thank you for your help!
Cathy
