You should just uninstall the program. As I said, it looks like something in your install has gotten wonky. On the UI draw, just click the button with the X. This shows up with the MSI installer has gotten out of sync. Once uninstalled, the issue likely will resolve itself.

I tried (via Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall/Change) but something seems to be very wrong with the UI drawing. The first window has what looks like a button, but the button is blank. Not knowing what it would do, I didn't click it and instead just tried to close the window, upon which I was asked whether I wished to cancel MarcEdit 7.5...
("installation" I suppose would be the next word, but it runs off the frame of the window). Clicking No, I then get a "Modify, Repair, or Remove installation" window, but the UI elements are mangled and I can't effectively interact with them. See attached screenshots.

I updated to 7.5.95 today and while I did not see the same "Problem with shortcut" error during the install, the behavior of getting an installer progress meter when MarcEdit is launched via opening a .mrc/.mrk persists.

Am I reduced to completely uninstalling and reinstalling, here?
