Hi all,
An extremely green user of MarcEdit here. Is it possible to do the
following kind of thing?
I have two MARC files. One has certain data in 500 fields. (An extract
of Local Bibliographic Data from WMS, if that means anything, so they
are very brief - LDR, 001, 004, and then some 500/590/599s.) I would
like to know if duplicates of their contents exist in any 505 or 520
fields in the other file, and if so, mark/select the record in the file
for eventual extraction or deletion.
Or, if this is possible to do within the same record, I also have a
version of the file where that LBD data is merged in situ for each title
record, so in that case I would want to know whether the contents of any
500 fields within each record are duplicated in 505 or 520 fields within
the same record, and if so, mark/select the record.
