There is a field count in the MarcEditor that will tell you how many fields total and how many in # of records. You can also use the Extract selected records to isolate records with multiple field types.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] count number of 856 fields for each title
Dear MarcEdit users:
Could any of you tell me if there's a way to count the total number of
856 fields for each individual title?
And how can I extract the titles that have more than one 856 field?
The "field count" under "reports" is for the whole file.
"field 245" has 227 occurrences and "field 856" has 273 occurrences.
So it means some titles have more than one 856 field.
I use the simple "find" =856 and then go through the list "manually" I can find out which titles have more than one 856 field.
But it is time consuming and not systematic.
And I cannot extract just those titles.
Many thanks in advance,
