So, I would have to see records. The way this works, is that it breaks the
record into lines, and then looks at the start of the field. If the start
is "=260", it gets processed. It's obviously looking at a wide range of
values while it's doing its thing, but the last part of the process is to
swap the data value if no other "stuff happens". So, at this point, if this
is something that happens -- I'd need to see records to see why -- because
something in the records would be causing it to fall through the process
(which doesn't seem possible at this point).

Yes, I have had that occur. And, no, it wasn't when the tag was embedded in
an 880. I was using the RDA helper and some 260s were converted and others
weren't.

I'm sorry I didn't mention it at the time as I do not have that file
anymore.

I will probably need to use the helper again in the near future. If Terry
hasn't found a solution (or received any examples to help resolve it) by the
time I've used the helper, I'll forward any examples to the list.

I have not -- I'd need to see examples because the tool specifically looks
for all occurrences of the 260 field and will move the data as appropriate.
The only time where this isn't true -- is when working with 260 fields
embedded within an 880 -- and I'm working on that.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] RDA helper not changing all 260 fields to 264

I've noticed recently that when I use the RDA helper on a batch of MARC
records, it doesn't always change *all* of the 260 fields to 264 fields. Has
anyone else noticed this? Is there a particular reason why it might not be
working, or something I can do to make it work?
Thanks!
Andrea
