Just now, when I opened a .mrk file (which I had been previously editing in Notepad++), MarcEdit put up a message box with "here" and an OK button. When I clicked OK, the message box went away and the file came up. I compiled the file into a .mrc file, and then converted that file to .mrk and opened it. There was no message box. The message box also didn't appear when I saved the .mrk in MarcEdit and then opened it again. After further testing, it seems to be related to blank lines at the end of the file--if there is not a full blank line at the end, then the message comes up (so, if line 563 is the last line with field data, 564 is blank, and that's it, then the message box appears; but if 564 is blank, and 565 is the last line, then the message does not come up. I also notice that MarcEdit adds a blank line each time one saves the document, so that would explain why saving it in MarcEdit and then reopening it caused the problem to go away.

Thank you for your assistance,
