Verifying that 8 is defined in OCLC Bib Formats & Standards, I edited the marcules file to incorporate this. I've done a quick check and it appears that the same issue applies to tags 600, 610, 611, 630, and 651.
This is one of the differences between MARC 21 (covered by MarcEdit's default rules fule) and OCLC-MARC. In MARC 21, Sears are coded with 2nd indicator 7, $2sears, while in OCLC-MARC, 2nd indicator '8' is used with no $2. I'm not sure why the difference exists, though perhaps MARC 21 didn't want to favor a 3rd party thesaurus (as opposed to the other special indicator codes which are from national libraries), so went with 7+$2, while Sears is popular enough in OCLC member libraries that a special indicator was desired/implemented.
Similar issues might exist for 007, where OCLC-MARC uses subfields while MARC 21 has only bytes and no subfields.
I hope this helps,
