So -- that isn't completely true. The program isn't truncating your data --
Excel is. Excel uses predictive variable typing, and there isn't anything
MarcEdit can do about this. Your best option is one of the following:

1) You can force Excel to treat things as text -- but it requires using the
data conversion functions (not just cell formatting). This will remove
Excel's predictive typing (because Excel is obviously telling MarcEdit your
data is a varchar type) and in my experience, coerce Excel into providing
all the data via the OBDC connection that MarcEdit is using while
communicating with the program.

2) If the above doesn't work, or you have trouble finding the option, export
the data as tab delimited and process.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] delimited text translator and truncated notes

Hi! I just find out that in delimited text translator those more than 256
lines are truncated. So, my question is is there a way that MARCEdit
Delimited Text translator does not truncate the fields? Some of my 500$a
notes exceed length of 256. Thanks in advance and cheers!
