I would take the simple way out and Find and Replace '856 40 ‡u http://www.springerprotocols.com/BookToc' with '859 40 ‡u http://www.springerprotocols.com/BookToc' and then delete all 859's as long as that is not a field you would be using for anything else. This should work as long you isolate text that is common to one of the fields and not the other.
Good luck

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Deleting fields
Is there a way to delete the first occurrence of a field in MARCEdit? I have two 856 with exactly the same indicators and would like to get rid off one since they are linking to the same resource:
856 40 ‡u http://www.springerprotocols.com/BookToc/doi/10.1385/1592592635
856 40 ‡u
http://www.springerprotocols.com/doiresolver?genre=book&pid=10.1385/1592592635
Thanks,
Gosia
