Hello!
I am trying to batch create uniform titles by copying the 100 field to a different field and appending data from 245/240$a. The Swap Field Data utility works as long as the modified data is going into a field with only one subfield. If there is more than one, I am getting an error message.
Example :
Append 245$a to 700 field, subfiled t.
245 10$aCovenant with death
700 1\$aHarris, John.$t Covenant with death. WORKS!
BUT NOT :
245 10$aBlack narcissus
700 1\$aGodden, Rumer,$d1907-1998.
It works only if I remove the subfield d, which, of course, I can’t.
As the author/creator data is very often going to have subfields, is there another way to do this procedure?
Is there a way/regular expression to create flexibility around appending and removing subfields as needed? There will also be situations where we would want to remove a subfield before appending—as in $e author.

Second question :
Ideally I would like to be able to do this in one step (not to have to copy data from 100 to 7XX then append). Is there a regular expression or some other way to customize the Add/Delete Field Utility so that I can simply add a field (700), subfield a, with conditions to copy data from specific subfields of 100, followed by subfield t , with conditions to copy the content of 245$a.?
I hope this makes sense. Thank you so much.
