While I don't currently make use of the Delimited Text Translator tool, this thread did bring to mind that the MarcEditor's Edit->Insert/Edit 008 commands also lacks an option for working with authority records. While I don't create authority records in MarcEdit, I do occasionally edit them, and have at times needed to edit the 008.

On a side note, another tool that may be helpful in creating authority records would be the Authority Toolkit [1]. It comes in 2 versions, one for working within OCLC Connexion (AuthorityToolkit.Connexion.ZIP) and one for working offline (AuthorityToolkit.Independent.ZIP) [2].
