I haven't had an issue with editing .mrc files since updating. I open the MarcEditor and then hit CTRL+O to open the file.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet,

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Edit .mrc missing from 7.6.2?
[EXTERNAL]
The option to edit a .mrc file appears to be no longer available with the new version. Should it be? My staff reported this and I confirmed that the only option is once again to use MarcBreaker. While this works, it adds more steps and is definitely less convenient when all we need to do is preview a file
