This is a really useful feature. Thanks, Terry!

There was a change in the last update to MarcEdit. If you modify the LDR/008 – set the date value in the 008 to {260$c} – MarcEdit will then attempt to take whatever value that is defined in the 260$c and place it into the generated records.

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Date in 008 field
Hi MarcEditors –
This question will no doubt reveal my ignorance about both Marc and the MarcEdit application, but…here goes:
I’m trying to convert a number of records from Excel in to Marc using the Delimited Text Translator. This is working great, except I cannot figure out how to get the appropriate publication date to populate the 008 field. Is there a way to automatically pull the 260$c date in to that field?
Alternatively, if anyone out there knows how to make that particular magic happen in Voyager, feel free to contact me off-list and share your wisdom :)
Thank you!
Bee
