I could never get WinMerge to work in any sort of an efficient manner, possibly because some of the files I was comparing were huge.

I use WinMerge but in a large file scrolling down takes a long time. If you have sharp eyes (you can make the pane wider) you may be able to discern a difference in pattern between the two columns on the left, which are visual representations of where you are in the files; moving the bar moves you to that place in the files. But is there a better way to use WinMerge or something else?

Subject: Comparing files

I'm looking for the easiest way of isolating the unique records in two large-ish files of MARC records (about 22k).

I'm anticipating that about 90% of the records will be duplicated, but need to identify which are unique to each file.

Is there a way to use MarcEdit for this? Or perhaps another utility is better suited?

Thanks for any help!
