Do you have a policy about what thesauri you will accept for subject headings? Most libraries will only accept subject headings from a single thesaurus, or sometimes two thesauri (usually LCSH and MESH, or LCSH and AC). If you don't have a policy, you probably should make one. It is generally a bad idea to have multiple thesauri displaying in a single catalog unless you make clear that they are separate thesauri. One problem is that you end up with some items displaying under one heading (for LCSH, for instance) and others displaying under another , and users won't realize they aren't getting everything.

If you do decide you want both the LCSH (indicator 0) and the Children's headings (indicator 1), then you should keep _both_ types of headings in these records. The way to properly deal with multiple thesauri is to put them into different indexes in your ILS, and have them explicitly identified in your OPAC display.
