SSL/TLS error when starting MarcEdit

Yesterday and today I have been getting the following error when 
launching the MarcEdit program:

error 2
System.Net.WebException: The request was aborted: Could not create 
SSL/TLS secure channel.
at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
at MarcEdit.frmMain.readUpdate(Boolean b, String& current_version)

I guess it is trying to check for the presence of an update, but failing 
to open the connection for some reason? This is ME 7.2.105 on Win7 64-bit.

(We have Symantec Endpoint running here but it doesn't give a 
notification that it's blocked traffic when the error occurs, so I'm 
skeptical it could be that.)
