I have a file of MaRC records that I need to load in my ILS (Voyager). I
would like to create holdings and item records when I load the bibs and my
bulk import rules are set up to do so. However, in order for the item
records to be populated with a barcode number (instead of being blank), I
need to add a 949 field with the barcode number in the subfield b. Is there
a way I can add this field with unique barcode numbers to each record via
MarcEdit in an automated way? The barcode numbers aren't actually official
barcodes, just a number range. These numbers are in the item record only for
the purpose of being able to run Access reports that need barcodes and batch
change things using Pick and Scan which requires a barcode number.

Thanks for your help,

Leslie
