When I had file association issues recently the only way I was able to fix it was to delete and recreate my whole windows login profile.

Assuming this is windows 10 -- if you've associated this with Windows in any way previously -- you have to take two steps:
1. Reset the file association within Windows 10 (because Windows 10 will trump the setting) 2. Set the process in MarcEdit.

And that probably will work assuming you are doing this within a user context. However, if you've associated the file outside of MarcEdit, it is sometimes difficult to force that reset. The last option would be to use the Reset All button in the Preferences. This will remove user defined file options and attempt to reset the mrc, mrk associations -- allowing you to start over. This tends to be able to force Windows 10 to remove any association holdovers that were made if associated through Windows 10.

I'm running 7.3.5. I just associated .out files with MarcBreaker in Preferences. When I double click on a .out file, it does start up MarcBreaker, but it does not fill in the "Select Data to Process" fields like it does if I click on a .mrc file. I'm sure it used to do this with locally associated file types before my last upgrade of MarcEdit. Is there another setting somewhere for this?
