Did you try the Delete Field function, using the Remove duplicates option?

Subject: [MARCEDIT-L] Removing some Duplicate Subject Headings
Hello all,
I have record files from a vendor where most but not all of the records in
the file have duplicate 650 fields in them. The whole darn thing is
duplicated down to the indicators and of course one record may contain two
or three different subject headings -- all duplicated.
Has anyone had success in safely removing one of the two 650 fields within a
record like this? I can't think of a way to do it that doesn't make all the
650 fields go away.
Thanks,
Nora
