It's the record in the first file.  The way the tool works when dealing with
multiple files is that it concatenates all the files together in the order
added to the list and then processes that concatenated file.  However, that
is just the default.  You do have the option to select the first record
found, last record found, or newest record based on transaction date (005).

If I tell the deduper to check across two files, and it finds a pair with
one record located in each file, which is considered the "first" 
record for the purposes of dedupe keeping? Is it the one from the file that
was listed first in "Find duplications from the following files"?
