Hi all,
I'm not sure what to do with this error. I'm hoping it just has to do
with how I am
opening or saving the file?
"Warning: Leader length is not the required 24 bytes."
I am processing a file of 44,000+ records from a Voyager system.
We think the file is Unicode.
About 6,000 of the records have the errror
"Warning: Leader length is not the required 24 bytes."
Is that a result of the conversion process or something that I
need to fix in each record? My goal is just to get a MARC file with all
44,000 records in it. What should be my process? What I have done is:
Opened the file to .mrk successfully (checked MARC-8)
Compile the file to .mrc
Open the ,mrc file and got validation errors and only 38,000+ records
Ran Identify validation errors and saw the leader length warnings
Ran Validate Record and in the resulting report didnt see any leader
length warning though plenty of
tag/subfield/indicator errors are there.
Complied that file to .mrc and then trying to open it still results in
only 38,000+ records
Thanks for any suggestions.
